An amazing Chilterns hiking experience in the most bewildering woodland forest which also has special geological interest and dates back to the medieval times. Simply fantastic to know this woodland forest in The Chilterns has plants, bushes and flowers whose species dates back to the medieval time. To rub shoulders with such history is definitely worth a visit by you!

  • A few seating benches scattered around

  • No cafe onsite, but a little mobile coffee van nearby

  • No toilets onsite

  • Free parking onsite or in lay-bys

Basic packing list…

  • Cash / Credit Card

  • Spare change in coins

  • Pen / Notebook (if you like to take notes)

  • Camera / Phone (great picture opportunities)

  • Layered clothing (stay away from cotton in winter)

  • Spare change of clothes (in winter & in case they get wet!)

  • Or bring waterproof jacket / trouser

  • Change of shoes (don’t want a muddy car!)

  • Sunglasses

  • Bottle of water or hydration pack (must keep hydrated)

  • Picnic / Food / Snacks

  • A day pack to carry everything (or hydration pack)

  • Bring the dog and the family too!
