These cover everything you need to know about guided day hikes, hiking clubs, beginner to advanced adventures, private group hikes and our fully inclusive hike and camp retreat experiences.

We offer guided day hikes (beginner to intermediate), hiking clubs (beginners’ club & intermediate/advanced club), private guided hikes for groups, multi-day introduction to backpacking, and hike and camp retreats. All are led by an experienced outdoor guide.

Not for our beginner options! We have hikes designed for first-timers, nature lovers and those new to the outdoors. For intermediate/advanced hikes, you should have some hiking experience, a decent fitness level and be comfortable with longer distances and varied terrain.

Day hikes are one-day guided walks in scenic locations, including the Chiltern Hills. They can range from around 5-7 easy-going miles (beginner) to more challenging 7–11+ miles, depending on the route and group.

Most trips start near areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) within about an hour of London and surrounding counties — like woods, hills, valleys and forest landscapes. Some of the outstanding AONBs are the Chiltern Hills, Surrey Hills, Kent Downs, and North Wessex Downs, as well as other notable areas such as Epping Forest, Hambleden Valley, Colney Valley, Hughenden Valley, and Misbourne Valley.

Basic guidance is to bring sturdy walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a daypack with water, snacks, sun protection or rain gear, and any personal items. Once you book a trip, we will provide specifics before your hike.

Most day hikes take between 3 and 6 hours, depending on the distance and terrain.

It’s a multi-day guided hiking and camping weekend — Fri evening to Sun afternoon — combining day hikes with a campsite stay, meals, campfires, use of facilities and nature experiences. The location is only a 40-minute train ride from London; there is no need to take time off work — an uplifting way to explore one of England’s most beautiful landscapes. We keep groups small to ensure a sense of familiarity, genuine relaxation, mental clarity, stress-free and a safe space to unwind completely. You can learn more here.

Day hikes during the Hike & Camp Retreat are typically 5–7 miles, with varied terrain and moderate elevation gain. The pace is friendly and inclusive for all.

This is a guided, multi-day hiking trip where you learn the basics of backpacking, including carrying gear, interpreting natural signs, and hiking safely from start to finish. The multi-day Introduction to Backpacking is similar to a hiking trip and typically includes a 2-day hike with 1 night of accommodation. The evening’s accommodation is a tavern or inn, and we return to the start point on the following day. The routes will differ on both days. A 3-day/2-night Introduction to Backpacking trip can also be arranged; however, it will be more challenging. The multi-day Introduction to Backpacking is currently offered as a private trip. You can learn more here.
