Get Outside Day
This past Sunday, September 29th, was “Get Outside Day,” dedicated to encouraging everyone to explore the outdoors and reconnect with nature.
We embraced it wholeheartedly, just as we do most weekends, making the most of the chance to breathe in fresh air, hike through scenic landscapes, and celebrate the natural world.
As part of the day, I had the pleasure of guiding a small group on a 12.5-mile hike through the hills and forests, offering them the chance to experience the joy and tranquillity of the great outdoors.

Meandering through beautiful woods

Guided walk – Chiltern Hills
Get Outside Day – North Chiltern Hills
Our hike began in the northern Chiltern Hills, following a route through Clipper Down and the picturesque Golden Valley. This early autumn setting was ideal for Get Outside Day, with the crisp air filling our lungs and the trees beginning to shift into their vibrant autumn colours.
Each step felt like a celebration of the season, reminding us of nature’s ever-changing beauty and our connection to it.
Along the way, we paused at several breathtaking viewpoints, where we could admire the rolling hills and vast, open spaces that make this part of the Chilterns so unique.
These panoramic views truly encapsulated the spirit of Get Outside Day, encouraging us to take a moment, reflect, and appreciate the simplicity of being outdoors.

Get Outside Day is more than just a walk
More than just a hike, this day was about reconnecting with the earth beneath our feet and embracing the profound calm and wonder that only nature can provide.
Get Outside Day served as a reminder of the importance of stepping away from our busy lives and immersing ourselves in nature’s beauty.
It was a perfect way to mark the day, and I look forward to continuing the tradition and encouraging more people to enjoy the peace and inspiration that the outdoors offers every day.
