Thorn in dog’s paw, OS navigation skills & trail pathway diversions
I’ve always navigated my hikes using pre-printed trail information, a navigation device such as a Garmin using GPX files or apps like Trail Forks. However, I have now found a challenge and new love in manually using Ordinance Survey (OS) maps and OS navigation skills.
It was a challenge for sure as not only am I new to OS navigation, but also because there were a few trail pathway diversions and a thorn in dog’s paw which was a big discomfort for me. Nevertheless, I completed my 5.5 mile / 8.6 km hike comfortably. My doggie has fully recovered too!
