Spotted a Grey Heron on a river hike
Spotted a Grey Heron and caught it mid-flight on one of my hikes. Beautiful birds and very tricky to photograph as they are very swift in their movement when disturbed.
I sat by the river and watched it hunting for fish for at least five minutes. At the same time poised with my camera ready for the flight as I knew it was imminent. If I had a faster bursting camera and a lens with a greater focal length, I think I would have done better.
Nevertheless, the point was to take in nature and by chance, some wildlife on this beautiful hike! ☺️
